Founded in 2023 in the heart of Tennessee, Barrel Proof Coffee Bean Company was born from a shared obsession: the depth of a perfectly aged whiskey and the clarity of a meticulously brewed coffee. Our founders spent years in specialty coffee, hospitality, and craft spirits, experimenting after hours with freshly emptied barrels and limited micro-lots of coffee from trusted farming partners in Nigeria and other storied origins.
What started as a tiny side project—curious baristas and bartenders tasting small jars of barrel-rested beans—quickly grew into a demand from cafés, cocktail programs, and guests who wanted to bring that layered, dessert-like cup home. Today, every batch we release is still produced in small volumes, tracked by barrel, vintage, and origin, then roasted to highlight the nuance of both bean and barrel.
Our mission is simple: to enrich the coffee experience by reinventing traditional aging methods without relying on shortcuts, artificial flavors, or gimmicks. Each bag you open is a quiet nod to the Tennessee rickhouses that inspired us—cool, dim, fragrant spaces where time, wood, and patience transform what is possible in the glass and in the cup.
